Devin Byron Dorsey, 43, has been arrested and charged for the armed robbery at Dawson's Market in the 200 block of North Washington Street in Rockville on Monday, Oct. 2.
On the day of the robbery, police say that Dorsey first attempted to steal food and leave without paying, though an employee was able to stop him and asked him to leave the store without incident.
Dorsey initially complied and left, though around 30. minutes later, he returned to the store, approached the employee with a knife, stole items and left the store.
The incident was caught on camera in a video that was released by police, helping lead to Dorsey's arrest.
According to a Montgomery County Department of Police spokesperson, that video, along with photos released by the agency led to an anonymous tipster who was able to identify Dorsey and alerted the authorities.
Dorsey, who has no known address, was charged with armed robbery, second-degree assault, and theft of less than $100, while the tipster is now eligible for a $10,000 reward for providing the information that led to his arrest.
He is being held without bond.
"The Montgomery County Police Department thanks the non-profit Crime Solver's of Montgomery County for their assistance in supporting the mission of reducing crime in Montgomery County," officials stated.
